Material Handler

Department: Operations

The Material Handler plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and products in an organized and efficient manner. In addition to managing inventory and fulfilling orders, the Material Handler supports assembly operations by delivering parts and supplies, preparing kits, and replenishing workstations to keep production moving without interruption. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, safe operation of warehouse equipment, and a proactive approach to supporting both warehouse and manufacturing needs.

  • Support assembly operations by delivering required materials, parts, and supplies to production workstations.
  • Prepare and kit parts for assemblers to ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and replenish assembly line stock, including hardware, fasteners, and other frequently used items.
  • Transport partially finished goods, sub-assemblies, and completed products between departments or staging areas.
  • Remove excess materials, empty containers, and finished assemblies from work areas to maintain organization and flow.
  • Communicate material shortages, damages, or discrepancies to supervisors and inventory control teams.
  • Assist with documentation, labeling, and tracking of materials used in production.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks (certification or ability to pass forklift operator course required).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and processing orders.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to communicate effectively across levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, barcode scanners, and basic computer systems for inventory management.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
