Procurement Manager

Full-Time Exempt

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, and efficiency. This role ensures that all materials, equipment, and services necessary for production are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining quality and supplier relationships.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor market trends and analyze potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure consistent quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including requisition approvals, purchase orders, and tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve issues related to supplier performance, quality, or delivery delays.
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Track spending, identify areas for cost reduction, and report on savings achieved.
  • Establish pricing for new products and lead pricing negotiations with customers and suppliers. Collaborate with the factory to secure cost reductions and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet operational needs.
  • Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of procurement expenses.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Manage lead times by coordinating with third-party vendors and suppliers. Track performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to reduce delays and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., CPM, CPSM, APICS) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related roles, in manufacturing or parts management.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven leadership experience, including team supervision, project coordination, delegation, and decision-making responsibilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Demonstrated resilience and composure in high-pressure environments, with the ability to delegate effectively,
  • maintain patience, and provide firm, confident leadership.
  • Office setting with occasional visits to production facilities or supplier sites.
